Shengeza Lake Lodge is  situated in North Eastern KwaZulu Natal on the shores of Lake Shengeza bordering Isimagaliso Wetland Park.

Shengeza Lake Lodge offers two rustic bush cottages set among indigenous trees, and 4 electric camp sites located in Kwangwanase.

Although easily accessible by two wheel drive vehicles, some excursions in this wilderness wonderland that is Kosi Bay will require four wheel drives.

A series of lakes, interconnected by winding channels make up the Kosi Bay system leading to the Bay where the world’s largest marine turtle, the Leatherback, can often be found nesting on the beach.

The constant interchange of fresh and sea water in the Kosi lake system has led to a rich biodiversity of plant life including 5 species of Mangrove and indigenous Rapphia palms. Over 300 species of birds have been recorded in the area with the Pels Fishing Owl and the rare and endangered, fruit eating Palmnut Vulture being major prizes.

Shengeza Lake Lodge is 22km from Bhanga Nek Beach and 18km from Black Rock Beach and 31km to Kosi Bay Mouth Estuary. Shengeza Lake Lodge is 24km to Kosi Bay Border/Ponta do Ouro Border Post, Mozambique.

These perfect beaches offer, swimming, snorkeling, turtle tours and fishing.

Various other activities in the near area offer canoeing, walks and hikes through the forests.

Shengeza Lake Lodge is nestled under a canopy of indigenous trees and home to exquisite birdlife.

The area has 300 species of birds which makes the area a birders dream.

A 4×4/4×2 vehicle with diff lock is recommended for various beaches and to reach the Lodge. However, a car with ground clearance can also reach the lodge and kosi bay mouth if you park by the lake and walk to the beach.

The Lodge offers self-catering accommodation and camping.

Perfect for a larger groups of friends, family or fishermen groups.

Big groups have an option to book out the entire camp.

The first unit is a lovely cottage with three bedrooms, a private bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen. The second unit is a log cabin with two bedrooms and an outside bathroom with a shower. The first two units share an enclosed entertainment deck area with lounge, dining, and braai facilities available. Guests can also relax in the Boma, with seating areas and a fire pit, and wood fired pizza oven.
All bedrooms in all units have aircons.

This pristine estuarine system offers fantastic snorkeling, rock & surf fishing, fly-fishing, walking and bird watch opportunities.  Take your 4X4 down to the river mouth for an awesome experience.
