Kosi Bay Mouth
This pristine estuarine system offers fantastic snorkeling, rock & surf fishing, fly-fishing, walking and bird watch opportunities. Take your 4X4 or 4×2 down to the river mouth for an awesome experience.

Banga Nek Beach
Bhanga Nek is a pristine, untouched beach located in the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Situated 12 km south of the Kosi Bay estuary mouth and 15 km south of the Mozambique border, it is part of an area known for its biodiversity and stunning natural beauty. A 4×4 vehicle is highly recommended to reach the beach, as access is via sandy tracks.

- Turtle tours: From November to March, you can witness female loggerhead and leatherback turtles nesting, and later, the hatchlings making their way to the ocean.
- Snorkeling: At low tide, explore the rock pools and vibrant underwater life. The water is warm and clear.
- Fishing: The area is a prime destination for both rock and surf angling.
- Relaxation: The beach is perfect for peaceful walks and enjoying the tranquil, uncrowded surroundings.
- Kayaking and boat cruises: Explore the Kosi Bay lake system and mangrove forests.
- Birdwatching: Spot a variety of bird species in this wildlife enthusiast’s paradise.
Black Rock Beach
This Black Rock Beach is situated on the Maputaland Coast, within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
Unique feature: This is the only rock outcrop in the area for several kilometres and is home to a unique species of lizard.
Access: Requires a 4×4 vehicle.
Activities: Snorkeling, especially during low tide, is a major draw due to the calm, clear, turquoise waters. It’s also a good location for fishing and sunbathing in a sheltered cove.
Wildlife: Anglers can try sea fly fishing and rock and surf angling. For a broader view, climbing the dune offers a vantage point for spotting dolphins and whales.
Kosi Mozambique Day Trip
